Phantom was amazing
The Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show actor, who played, showed so much emotion. He really got into his character. The costumes were brilliantly colored and amazing detail. The light caught the buttons just right on Raul's suit when he turned to the audience while they were on the rooftop, making the plain black and white suit dazzle. The singing was amazing! The cast was wonderful! I absolutely loved this play! I just can't imagine someone not enjoying this production. I really enjoyed myself and am hoping to have the time to go see YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN next. BRAVO!
Disenchanted with the Newsboys concert
I was greatly disenchanted and disappointed with the concert itself. The second band was not the best. Chainsaw have to do with God? What does the song have to do with God? I was hoping the Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show would take the stage sooner than 9:00 pm since it was a work night. The bands prior to the Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show were not the best. Since it was a Thursday night, I was hoping the Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show would take the stage sooner than 9:00 pm. Sadly, I was disappointed with the evening. I attend church services regularly on Sundays. The preaching and hour-long message prior to the Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show was too much. I wanted to hear them play rather than have a church service. Casting Crowns was better put together and mixed better with their talking and bands. Too much talking, way too much. I LOVE the Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show....don't get me wrong. Also, there was no numbered seating, as noted on my ticket. Numbers and rows on the tickets were moot. It was "first come first serve" seats apparently.
ZZ Top Rocked!!!
I paid only 29 bucks for the ticket and was glad. While ZZ Top is not a live/show band, they were awesome. I've always liked them as musicians rather than showmen. Aerosmith, on the other hand, was very disappointing. I think Steven came back too early. Nothing to write home about. Plus, 45 minutes into the show, he says, "We have to cut it short tonight...don't hate me!" Give me back $14.50 and I won't. Didn't even do "Sweet Emotion," "Crazy," "Toys In the Attic," or other big hits. Joe Perry can screech the guitar when Steven has to, though. Age takes a toll, but damn...know when to stop, Steven. Hank Aaron should not have played for the Brewers. Farve should give it up. The Simpson's...well, that's a whole different thing. I gave it 3 stars simply for ZZ Top. If it was their show alone, 5 stars. If it was Aerosmith's alone, 2 stars.
